“Winter Beach Party” March 15, 2012

March 15th proved to be a fun time for the children in a Wee Watch Home in Kingston.  The playroom was transformed in to a beach scene with sun,
beach games, a pool full of fish, and some lively Beach Boy music. The children donned Hawaiian Leis, self-designed grass skirts and sun visors to enjoy a fun day at the beach.

Beach limbo let the children be active and use their imaginations.  They pretended to be a variety of sea creatures, walking like crabs, swimming like a sharks, wiggling like a fish and slithering like water snakes!

Hot Beach ball provided a great group activity, with everyone trying not to end up holding the hot ball. A pond full of plastic fish and fishing rods let everyone try a hand at fishing.

The fun filled morning of beach activity ended with snack of fish crackers and fruit around a very convincing paper cutout ‘campfire’ and listening to the story “ Just Grandma and Me.”
