“Safe Kids Week – Walk and Talk Parade”

On Friday, May 20th, the Providers and children in Orillia met outside the Wee Watch office and took part in the “Safe Kids Week – Walk and Talk Parade”.

We talked about how to safely cross the road to the bus stop.   While waiting for the bus, we talked abut the street light signals and safety around the road.   Once on the bus, we looked out the windows and counted cars, buses and anything else we saw, i.e. trees and rocks.  We rode the bus to Lake Head University and then we walked along the sidewalk to the park.

Along our walk, we talked about pedestrian safety.   While playing at the park, we also discussed playground safety.  We had a nutritious snack and headed back to wait for the bus.   The children enjoyed singing songs and playing silly games while we waited to head back downtown.

It was a fantastic morning filled with lots of safety tips and fun!
