Nature Scavenger Hunt – April 2012

Wee Watch children all across Ontario spent the last part of April discussing Earth Day and how important it is for all of us to do our part.

Mahatma Gandhi once said “Be the change that you wish to see in the world”.

On Friday April 20th, children from our Cambridge location put that quote into action.  In celebration of Earth Day, a group of children got together and cleaned up a local park.  They talked about the importance of recycling, and so there were bins for both garbage and recyclable items.  They held onto some of their recyclable items so that that they could reuse them for their “Twice as Nice” Art Project.

The children were taught about how necessary it was to take care of the world that we all live in.   They were given a list of little changes that they could make at home that would make a BIG impact on the environment.

In true Wee Watch fashion, the week ended with a big bang as the children took part in an Earth Day Celebration!  There was a “Nature Scavenger Hunt”, as well as other activities and snacks for the children.  Fun was had by all!
