AROUND THE WORLD 2013 – IRELAND

The air is filled with excitement in our Wee Watch homes. We had a wonderful time visiting Scotland and China so far this year and in March, our travels took us to Ireland.

Each home began the month by learning interesting and fun facts about Ireland. We learned about a village in Ireland called “Muckanaghederdauhaulia”. Imagine writing that on an envelope. We were also lucky enough to have currency from this beautiful country and each child was able to see the difference between the Canadian currency and the Pound and Euro.

Since St. Patrick’s Day landed in the month of March, our children took full advantage of celebrating in true Irish style! The children were involved in many games and activities throughout the month. We enjoyed a taste of the rainbow, compliments of our Wee Watch children. The worked hard on their rainbow cupcakes, and were very pleased to be able to share them with family and friends. Dressed in green, they eagerly looked for the pot of gold in our scavenger hunt.

We had such a fantastic time exploring Ireland that we were sad to say goodbye…  until we learned that our next stop is in Australia! The adventures never end in our Wee Watch Homes!
