Ni Hao everyone!!!!

What a great trip to China we had in February!! China has so much culture to explore and our Wee Watch homes took on a kaleidoscope of colours through decorations and crafts.

Providers and children busied themselves at the beginning of the month to prepare for Chinese New Year on February 11. Home Visitors were able to hear the clammer of noisy pie plate celebration cymbals the children made as they arrived for their visits and were quickly swept into a Chinese dragon dance around the playrooms!

Wee Watch homes were decorated with colourful paper lanterns that the children worked on. It was a great opportunity for the young ones to practice their fine motor skills by cutting the folded paper edges needed for the lanterns.

As 2013 is the year of the snake, children not only had a chance to make paper snakes, they added some “snakey” activities such as Snakes and Ladders, gummy worm snakes to pudding snacks, and a great gross motor game of jump over the skipping rope snake.

Finally children enjoyed a warm bowl of egg drop soup and reflected on their favourite activities before preparing for their next adventure!
